2026-04-19 | Shelters and MDS in Practice – Up-to-Date Knowledge for Real Design Decisions

The past week was an intensive one for the APP-Projekt team – not only in terms of project work, but also professional development. We participated in training sessions in both Warsaw and Poznań, focusing on areas that have a direct impact on the quality and safety of our projects.

In Warsaw, we attended a training organized by the Polish Association of Developers titled “Shelters and MDS: legal, budgetary and technical aspects.” This topic is becoming increasingly relevant in the design process – both from a regulatory and technical perspective.

The training helped us structure and clarify key issues related to new regulations and their practical application. We focused in particular on:

  • the differences between shelters, temporary shelter spaces (MDS), and refuge areas,
  • the impact of current regulations on project planning,
  • realistic budget assumptions for typical developments,
  • potential risks and ways to mitigate them already at the design stage.

At APP-Projekt, participating in such training is a standard part of our work. It allows us not only to stay up to date with changing regulations, but above all to make informed and responsible design decisions.

Up-to-date knowledge directly translates into the quality of our work – and ultimately into safer, more predictable investments for our clients.
